I love strategy guides; from where I'm at I can count over twenty, and this is far and away the best strategy guide I've ever seen. It's beautiful, extremely detailed, and it omits the pages and pages of useless fluff common to larger American Strategy guides. That isn't too say it's small, it's HUGE, just packed with desirable information. The information in here is extremely useful from start to finish and comes off as a labor of love. I don't know who this company is but I wish they would make strategy guides for the US, because we can't compare.
Thirty bones and shipping seems extremely steep for a strategy guide, and it is, but in case you hadn't heard, this is a European guide because the American Guide Manufacturer had some sort of issue and it went largely unreleased. So not only is it an amazing piece of video game guidance, it is a rare import as well.
It is also worth mentioning that Bayonetta is deep enough to merit a guide such as this, many of the nuances of the game don't come out so well on gamefaqs: here they're clear, concise, and include the type of advice that you get from someone who really knows the game, instead of the standard BS "Aim for the head to do more damage!" that's regurgitated from the in game tutorial.
I would agree that all valid reviews have criticisms, because nothing is perfect, but seriously, I can't think of anything to criticize here. This guide will make your other guides seem pathetic in comparison. That's definitely true. You'll wonder how the **** you're going to get more of these guides from Europe, that's going to be a negative as well.
Buy this right now. However hyperbolic the above sounds, I mean every word of it without exaggeration.

I honestly do not believe there is another way of discovering everything Bayonetta has to offer without this guide or without spending 6,000 hours playing it yourself.
The walkthroughs Bayonetta Strategy Guide are divided up into three sections: the Scenario Guide, the Pure Platinum Guide, and the Angels Guide. The first section is a general walkthrough of the game; it points out all collectibles in all difficulties and points the player in the general direction of what to do next. No real, in-depth strategies are offered here. For those, there is the Pure Platinum section, which provides the most efficient strategies throughout the game for the player to earn those coveted Pure Platinum medals for every verse. If you need extra help to see how these strategies can be done, FuturePress provides movie codes for each strategy (see image to the right) for FuturePress registrants to view. The last section, the Angels Guide, offers in-depth strategies for the various Angels Bayonetta will encounter, including all bosses. These last strategies are so in-depth that for the bosses there are two sections: a general overview section of the boss's attacks (prep) and a strategy section (for actually attacking).
So as you can see, no stone is left unturned, and the guide is sectioned off to accommodate a variety of players and player styles. However, this asset is also a bit of a detriment. Since not everything is in one place, players who may need additional assistance or who want to use the Pure Platinum section and find all the collectibles will have to flip back and forth through the guide often. It becomes a hassle over time, especially switching between the walkthroughs and Angel strategies for the boss fights. But this is a minor annoyance, and in no way detracts from the usefulness of the guide.
As an extra bonus, the back of the guide is packed full of the game's secret battles, costume unlockables, the Angel Slayer challenge tips, Speed Run challenge (defeat the game in 3 hours), Easter eggs, concept art, interviews with the developers, and a concordance of all the angelic and demonic references. I don't think I've ever come across a guide with this much bonus information. I could easily spend a Sunday afternoon just reading the back section to learn all there is to know about Bayonetta and her world.
FuturePress has raised the bar yet again, and indubitably, the Bayonetta Strategy Guide is how all strategy guides should be.
Unfortunately you can only buy it in the States through someone's sale, but amazon.co.uk still has them in stock! Trust me, it's worth the shipping.

I don't think I can say much more good about this guide than others already have. Easily the best game guide I've ever owned.
The only con to this book is that it is very heavy. I bumped mine off a table and it landed in a bad way and the weight of all the pages ripped the book from the spine. Be careful!
That being said, I love this guide enough I'm getting another to replace it.

As a collector of strategy guides and video games, with well over 300 games & 200 guides in my collection, I have seen my fair share of guides. But none have impressed me more than the "Bayonetta" guide from Future Press. It is really a shame that this guide has to be imported, because I don't think a lot of people will purchase this because of all the hassles of ordering from a different country.
This is without a doubt the nicest and most professional guide I have ever purchased. It is well worth the $35 I paid to have it imported to my home.
I am always a fan of a hardcover guide, it not only makes it look way cool, but it doesn't take the wear and tear and ruin the cover. Inside, this guide is 400 pages of the most detailed strategy guide I have ever read. I haven't even opened my "Bayonetta" game yet, but I find myself flipping through this guide every day.
Trust me, as an avid collector of strategy guides, this is money well spent. You will not regret it. A MUST BUY!!!!!!

Great buy!!! Full of info, pictures and backstories about Bayonetta. The perfect compliment to an already perfect game. A must have for all Bayonetta fans.
