good for kids June 5, 2010 K. D. Bessette 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My eight year old hates spelling but loves typing in words to complete puzzles in this game. Very fun for imaginary play.
g May 16, 2010 H. Speaks (halethorpe,md usa) very helpful for the scribblenauts fan.
has a section to add your own words. love this guide!
Great resource for the game March 11, 2010 C. Gonzalez (Scottsbluff, NE) This book is great. I especially love the crazy solutions that are included. Another nice addition is the word list that is broken down into catergories at the back of the book (it doesn't include ALL the words, but a nice collection) and an area for writing in notes of your own words. Also included is a section with 10 level editor tips. Bonus content includes an interview with the co-founder and creative director of 5th Cell, an art gallery, and a pull out poster.
Although some might say this is "cheating" I found it very helpful when I was stuck on a particular level and in addition to helping me get past the level, it gave me all new ideas to try. All in all, this a very nice guide and I would recommend it to anyone who is having difficulties with the game.
wONDERFUL!!! January 25, 2010 DianeB (MN) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Love this game. I play it with my son who is 8. It takes a lot of creativity and problem solving. It is really fun to play a level over and over, trying out differnt apporaches. HIGHLY Recommend.
A Great Add-on to the Scribblenauts Experience January 10, 2010 K. Groh (Pennsylvania) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Let's face it. If you've played Scribblenauts, you already know that it is one of the most unique games out there. Many of the 'puzzles' require only an imagination and basic understanding of how things work or react with each other. There are many ways to complete each level and there is not one right answer. Therefore, why would anyone need a guide to get through this game?
The answer is that there are two types of gamers: those who just get it and and those who don't always get it. For those that have a natural creativity and complex imagination, this guide will enhance and take your Scribblenauts to another level. For those who struggle to figure out what to use or what do in this game, this guide will allow you a resource to complete it.
The cool thing about Scribblenauts is that there is no manual that lists all the available items you can conjure. As word spreads on the internet and through young gamers, you quickly realize that the vocabulary of Scribblenauts is huge and highly creative. This manual will help to unlock some of those things that the programmers designed but that even the most creative player may never realize can be used.
Each level has a breakdown of what needs to be done to get the Starite. Then there is one possible solution (with a few hints or additional suggestions). Then to add to the experience, there is a "Crazy Solution" that lets you play the level and get through it using off the wall ideas.
For those talented gamers, this is probably not necessary since you will most likely have come up with a "crazy solution" even better than the guide. But, if you got through Scribblenauts and now can't figure out how to make the game last, this guide will give you ideas to expand on your initial play experience.
My 10 year old son completed the game but still went back through trying many of the additional solutions in this guide. Some of them gave him further ideas to try on his own.
